70×7

Last night at youth group I spoke on a topic that I hate speaking on because it not only speaks to our students but to me as well! I spoke on the idea of forgiveness.

We read through the parable of the servant who gets forgiven of his debt then doesn’t forgive someone who owes him a debt. In that parable Jesus tells Peter to forgive people 70×7 times! What He meant here was our forgiveness should be unlimited! He forgave us of our suns so wesgould forgive others! So that begged me to ask the question “Are we forgiving people?”

At the end of the message I handed the students a small card and a pencil and had them write the name of someone that they need to forgive. They then placed the card in their pocket as a symbol of committing to forgive that person who is on their card!

Who do you need to forgive today?

  1. Good job Darryl!
It’s always hard to preach on topics that we need to work on ourselves. But! When we put it out there, we feel so much better! That is why forgiveness and bringing EVERYTHING to God is crucial in our walk with Him and our daily lives with others. 🙂
